About A Dog (6).png

About a Dog Rescue Society, in partnership with Vancouver Pet Photography, is happy to announce its annual fundraising calendar for 2025.

Every penny raised from this contest will go straight to About A Dog Rescue Society, to assist their beautiful mission to help out animals by:

  • Finding loving homes in Vancouver for stray dogs found in Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) through their adoption program.

  • Participating in free spay/neuter clinics in the neighbourhoods where they rescue their dogs as a way to give back to the community.

  • Donating trees to a British Columbia reforestation project in honour of each of the dogs that have arrived, welcoming them to their new home, and becoming Canadians.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entrants that get the most votes. The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2025 calendar! 2nd - 13th place winners will have their pet featured as a pet of the month! The top 13 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Vancouver Pet Photography for the 2025 calendar. All winners will have the opportunity to upgrade to a standard session to include other pet or family members and/or purchase products following their session if desired.

Additionally, one pet each week who receives the highest number of new votes for a particular week will win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating weekly mini-contest prize-sponsoring businesses.

  • All breeds are welcomed and encouraged to enter! We encourage you to submit your favorite photo of your dogs and ask your family and friends to vote for them. And while we love a good rescue story, we have dogs from a variety of backgrounds entered each year.

  • Definitely, but there is a limit of one dog per photo entry. People are not allowed in photos, only your dog. Photos that do not follow these rules will be removed and will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.

  • Complimentary calendar contest micro sessions will be held on pre-determined dates on March 2024 at a pre-determined outdoor location. Exact details will be provided to winners upon completion of the calendar contest.

Upgraded calendar contest sessions will be held at locations throughout the Greater Vancouver area between March and June 2024 (subject to the model & photographer’s availability.).

  • Honour your special furry friend or celebrate their birthday or gotcha-day by reserving an empty grid space on the calendar with their picture. Just choose a favourite photo, a month, and donate, it’s that simple! There are a limited number of empty squares in each grid per month and they will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis; so please don't delay! You can reserve grid space with a minimum donation of $10.

Still on the fence? See what others have to say about their experience with Vancouver Pet Photography

Katherine did such an incredible job of capturing my new puppy! She was a delight to spend time with, and did such an amazing job of getting this jumpy little guy to stand still and feel comfortable in front of the camera. She was gentle and kind with him, had all sorts of fun methods to get his attention, and her images speak for themselves! Alongside the digital images, I got a print and an album, and I'm thrilled to have such wonderful memories of his puppyhood captured forever. Katherine is such a kind and friendly person, full of talent and great ideas, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for pet portraits! I plan on doing another session outdoors, when he's fully grown!” - Lisa T.

Katherine is amazing, she was very patient with our curious dog. The photo shoot went very well a week ago and today we got to pick out the photos we wanted. Katherine is very accommodating she knows we are leaving for a vacation and she is making sure we get our finished pictures before we leave. I definitely recommend her and Vancouver Pet Photography.” - Rubina J.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Katherine! She is patient, wonderful, and really understands animal behaviour (a hard thing to come by even in the professional world). I have two senior animals and she let them feel out the situation and get comfortable in their own time without stressing them out or pushing them into something they didn't want to do. I would highly recommend doing a photoshoot with her!” - Erin P.
