Halloween fun for pets in Vancouver this weekend!

It’s official, we’re just a couple of days away from one of the most fun holidays ever! Christmas might be great with all the presents and family time happening, BUT Halloween is all about costumes, candies, and fun.

Despite the history behind Halloween and the different believes surrounding October 31, now this holiday has a whole different meaning, something that adults enjoy just as much –or even more- than kids. And lately, our beloved pets have joined the celebration.

I can’t tell how much I’ve loved seeing all the cute little costumes available for cats and dogs now. And how much some posts of videos and photos on social media have made me laugh and say a big and long “aw”. That’s why I’ve gathered a couple of events happening in different cities in Canada, so you can join the fun with your pup.

October 26: Howl-O-Ween Kids & Pets Trick or Treat

This is an ideal event for kids and your fur babies to fully enjoy Halloween. Go to 2798 W Broadway from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. for a free treat bag and map of participating locations, plus the chance to win Halloween prizes.

Bring along non-perishable pet food and donations for the BC SPCA.

October 26: Halloween Pawty

In support of New Westminster Animal Rescue & Hug-a-Bull Rescue, this Saturday, October 26 from 11am - 3pm, come by Bosley’s New Westminster (1015 Columbia St.), and have a great time with some Hot Dog & Bake Sale, Halloween Pet Costume Contest, Pet Photos by Vancouver Pet Photography -yup, that’s right- from 11pm - 1pm, and Mr. Bently the Dog from 12pm - 1 pm.

October 27: Howwwl-a-ween costume party

The second annual costume party for four-legged friends –including cats and other non-human family members- in Port Moody, will be held from noon to 3 p.m., at Parkside Brewery (2731 Murray St.). The event is a fundraiser for the Port Moody Foundation that uses the money to invest in initiatives to improve the quality of life in the city. The costumes will be judged in a variety of categories, including most creative, most original, scariest, funniest and cutest, with the winners announced at 2 p.m. The event also includes a silent auction as well as the launch of the latest Port Moody doggy’s calendar.

Here are some cute little outfits to inspire you for this Halloween!
